Brake Light
Man I tell you I have had some pretty good luck with my 1998 E320 except now I have a right brake light that doesn't work and I have replaced the blub, the blub carrier and the darn thing still doesn't work. I tell you I like my Benz 217,000 on the old girl and she's still ticking, but this one issue I can't figure out at all. Can someone tell the old retired Army man what the deal is.

Make sure you use Sylvania bulbs at all bulb locations. Remove all of the light bulbs and spray them with electronic cleaner. Remove all of the fuses and use an emory board to clean up the ends of the fuses. Then spray the fuse connectors with electronic cleaner and replace the light fuse (#6 on mine) with a NEW fuse just to be sure.
Past that it might be time to get out the multimeter and start running voltage tests. |
I just replaced the brake light switch on the 560 and now all brake lights work great. It was a total pain to replace....I'm going to have to take advil for a few days to alleviate the back pain from laying on my back staring up under the dash with a wrench in hand....
If your other brake lights are working it is most likely another problem...... |
