Good day guys.been seeing oily deposits on my serpentine belt and around the general area of the engine bay and compressor area.On investigating found the leak to be emanating from the pwr.steering pump.Ques.#1.is there a repair kit for it,#2.do i need special tools to do this repair?.your help will be appreciated.

What car? I thought my PS was leaking, turned out it was the SLS pump instead. PS fluid is usually pink, SLS is yellow but clear in small quantities.

sorry for the omission of the info for the car.1987 190e 2.6.pwr steering pump.pls include pt.# for repair kit.thanks.

Is it slinging oil from the shaft? If so, you can probably just replace the seal and it will be good.

The original seal in cars of that vintage do not last the long term if using modern ATF. ATF formulation changed since the time of that cars manufacturer. It is possible that a new seal would not be susceptible to Mercon/Dexron "poisoning" but there are other seals in the system. If you insist on using ATF, find some type A. What I have found to work best is plain old Power Steering Fluid from the parts store.
