I just finished reading (in horror) this entire thread!

Ibantay, I'm glad you got your car back in one piece and feel bad for you that you had to experience "all that".

I hope you find a good, reputable place to have your MB serviced and repaired from here on out...it just gets too expensive and frustrating using an installer (or mechanic for that matter) who is "experimenting" on your car!

Good luck and glad things are "back to normal"

Just to echo Mike Richards' comment - the only thing good about the Mercedes factory alarm is that it gets you a 10% discount on insurance. ;)

Glad to hear your problem was rectified and paid for!

Discharged Battery

I once had a car that did the same thing! It turned out to be a shorted out Diode in the alternator! What had happened was that someone worked om the car, probably left the door opened to find out later the battery had been drained. Show they try to jump start the car and in the processs cross the cables (short them) to make sure they have a good conection. Bad idea! They make have just cost you a re-build! Go to Auto Zone have them put it on their machine they can tell you right away if a diode is bad. The other thing, if you have a shorted diode it can ruin your new battery too!
