I must be blind, I can't locate the cruise control actuator to test it.
Anybody?

Under the intake manifold.

Chances are the amplifier is dead, not the actuator.

I had to get under the car to just even see it!
Now, if I can find the electrical plug I could test it.

The connector should be somewhere on the one of the fenders. I think on an m103 126 combination, I'd look at the drivers fender somewhere.
