HELP!!

94 Chevy S10 Truck 2.2L - Loses performance when accelerating on inclines. Replaced plugs and wires...catalytic converter, fuel filter, MAP, MAP, temperature, O2, TPS sensors....seems to run better with TPS disconnected...but still has deceleration on incline. Take off and 1st, 2nd, 3rd gear good...but after that not good. Anyone have any ideas?

This is a 95 Chevrolet S10 with a 3L Mercedes 5 cylinder diesel turbo in it.
The truck has Chevrolet 5 speed trans, PW PL Tilt wheel.
Has later model front end on it, toolbox, spray in bed liner, and cowl hood and new paint.
I have over double what I am asking in it and will not take less than what I am asking so don't ask.
Pictures of truck show the truck need a bath, (Drove in the rain)
Truck Drives out well with no problems but this truck is not for just every one, need to have the ability to work with hands.
Will answer any question about truck but no tire kickers don't have time for that if you are serious about this truck we can talk.
Just email me.

egr leakage. strange parts, like aftermarket ign modules, distributor assembled wrong, plugged muffler. in all the years whats been done?. see somebody with a tech one to get started. live datastream during road test can show u things u cant otherwise measure. ive seen sensors and actuators make noise electronically that make pcm/ecm retard timing and change fuel trim. a vacuum gauge can eliminate exhaust restriction as poss cause. a fuel pressure gauge can show readings if taped to the windshield. library has free tsb info. hope u find it quick

hey,

like 190e already mentioned, first make sure your fuel pressure checks out ok.

when our aerostar started losing power, especially uphill. i replaced a ton of stuff : ignition coil, sparkplugs and wires, distributor cap, o2 sensor, all of the filters, but didnt notice much of an improvement. btw mileage was also horrible

i got fed up and took it to a mechanic who was able to diagnose the problem with a hand held scanner tool. The problem turned out to be dirty/clogged fuel injectors. I borrowed an ultrasonic cleaning tub from a friend , and cleaned them myself, all is well again.

my advice would be to pull the injectors and have them flow tested by a reputable shop, or if you dont have one near you, find one online.

good luck

I don't think the S10 with the 2.2 had any performance in it to begin with!
