Where to buy R129 SL tie rod boots/ lower a arm bushings?
Are these sold separately? My tie rods are just fine except that the rubber boots have cracked ( or perished for the Brits on this board )
I'm real tempted to but some low line VW Golf tie rods just to use the boots if they are the same dimensions. Mercedes tie rod ends are about $30 for a decent brand, $ 7 for low line VW ends. I'm having a difficult time finding front a arm bushings, are these sold separately? There are complete aftermarket arms available, but I'd be concerned about quality. Thanks |

There might be something here that fits - Tie Rod End Dust Boots - Energy Suspension - Chassis & Suspension - SummitRacing.com . Or here - http://www.trucksandcars.com/html/page_7.htm

Here we go - EPC shows 129 330 00 85 boot parts kit. Looks like the boot and nut. List is $12. See if Phil can do better. EPC shows a different part number, -01 85, for drag link boots.

Thanks for the boot numbers.
I searched the Fastlane parts section a few times before but it ends up hanging my computer part way through. |

After much prodding of the local dealer, I've been told the boots are no longer sold.
My next stop is to measure VW and other euro cars to find a replacement. ( I've got free run of a local scrap metal yard. ) The tie rod ends take a large boot with the drag / center link smaller ones. I'd really hate to replace the joints as the ones on the car are just fine except for the boots. |
