W210 seat has mind of its own

Hey guys,

Bought a new (used) W210 1997 E420 and have found that the passenger side seat does not retract (go back) all the way on the seat track. About the last three inches of the track looks like it has never been worn or retracted. In addition when I move the seat back the head rest goes into the highest position when I am only sliding the seat to the rear with the bottom door button not using the memory buttons.

Is there some sort of reset? I don't see anything impeding the track area. No wires or anything in the way.

Thanks.

The only time I recall something similar being mentioned it was more about recline. But you can try this reset from the BW 210 forum stickies.

At least that is easy and free as a starting point.

Good luck.
