Bosch Oxygen Sensor Differences

Hello everyone,

Back a few years ago I replaced my 190E oxygen sensor with a Ford Mustang GT unit which is also the same as the Bosch 15725 universal.

Not too long ago my buddy replaced his 560SEL's with a non-MB unit. I cannot remember which it was. I thought it was the same as my Ford Mustang unit but I could be wrong.

I was looking and evidently Bosch 15735 is the universal for the 420SEL.

Whats the difference between the 15725 and 15735 units? I swear we just used the Ford Mustang unit on the 560SEL but it was a while ago and neither of us can recall exactly.

There is a substantial price difference between the two. I tried searching on here and there were no definitive post/thread on the v8 w126s.

So does anyone know if we can use the Ford Mustang GT sensor on the w126s too? Or can it only be used on the 124s and 201s?

I'm unsure of the cross reference applications but I talked to a Bosch rep a few years back and the differences are in the amount of current the heater circuit draws.

To add to this:

If the reference isn't available from your FLAPS then ask for the 1990 Ford Ranger 4 cyl upstream sensor.

Splice your OEM plugs on (braid and crimp the stainless wire) then hook it up. Works like a champ on 190E.

I used the 1990 Ford Mustang GT on my 190E
