w 140 a/c problems
 

hello..i have a question on my 93 mercedes 300se (w140) my a/c is blowing a little air from all the vents. its cold but not to much air, if i turn it off then back on it blows normal air from all vents,also if i put it on recirc it blows good. where do i start checking first im lost on this one thank you for your help guys.

If the compressor turn on, check the heater control valve. Used one does not work for long. Save your money on a new one.

I would take the cover down under the passenger side (two slotted quarter turn screws), where the recirculation air filter is, and take a look make sure the recirculation door is closing all the way in normal mode. I had changed that filter once and didn't get it seated all the way, and the filter cage was keeping the door from closing, causing symptoms similar to yours. Do you get a whistling sound at higher blower speed levels?
