Ignitipn wont turn, need ideas before tomorrow if possible.
Car: 1995 E320 Wagon
Niether key will work in ignition. It is not steering lock related as the lock is not engaged as of now. Key fits loose slightly in slot. Ignition will not budge with key fully inserted. With key halfway out, front part of ignition will move freely with no resistance or mechanism engagement. At a loss, please advise. Thanks, Greg |
spray a little wd 40 on key and insert in and out while turning. see if that helps. also try turning the wheel to the left while doing it. report back

Have access to another car as of now. So not as urgent. But still working at it either way. |
this happened to me once. I put the key all the way in and slightly pulled out while turning and it worked.....of course I did spray some lithium grease on the key as well though. did u try another key?

Ya, I had this happen on a car too. Turned out to be the steering lock in that case. But not this time.
I'm going to sleep on it and work more tomorrow. People can keep posting so I know what to try in the morning. |
