Brake bolt question for techs/brake gurus
Just replaced front rotors on sliding calipers (W124). Do the "self-securing" caliper bolts need to be replaced or locktited? I coated with anti-seize and torqued to spec (81 ft-lbs). Am I OK?
Also, one rear piston was a little difficult to force back into the bore but I was able to get it in with extra effort? Do I need rebuild/replacement or will it be alright? I did replace fluid. All assistance appreciated. |
The bolts that hold the caliper bracket to the spindle and the bolts that hold the two halves of the caliper together should be coated with LOCTITE!!

Thanks Benzmac.
What should I do now? Also, friend and I did same thing on friends 850 Volvo with same setup? Clean bolts and coat with loctite or replace bolts? Also, what about piston issue? Any thoughts? Thanks. |
