Michael,
Mercedes Benz AG Stuttgart 06/92 Looks like I'm a qualifer...... Ray |
Ray,
I'm disinclined to think it's your harness...I humbly suggest that you get a 2nd opinion as to its condition. Please let us know! |
Michael,
I too am unsure as to whether the idle problem could be related to the harness; however, I do know that the harness is in need of replacement. The MB indy made a 1" slit in the outer harness casing and he and I both looked at the interior wiring. The insulation on those interior wires was crumbling and cracked - not a good sign. So, with that said, I am once again soliciting for help for the fast idle condition. Thanks in advance, Ray |
Ray,
I'm sorry to hear about your harness...sounds suspiciously consistent with the degradation experienced by later-model owners. Can you snap a picture? Good luck-I hope the harness replacement solves your issues:) |
I have the same idle problem with my 190e 2.5-16v. When it's cold it runs fine about 900 rpm but when it warms up it idle start to flactuate. It goes to 1400 - 1500 rpm, some time it will go back to 900 rpm for a couple of seconds and then it's back to 1500 rpm. I've checked the OVP relay fuses and they are allright. Somebody suggested that the automatic choke may be cutting in, how can I check this ? Can I disconect it ?
