1993 300E EHA valve

Car was beginning to become harder and harder to start. Now it doesn't want to start at all. Removed the air cleaner and noticed gas leaking from the EHA valve. Same leak appeared in same area. Is there something I'm missing? Is the fuel distributor leaking?

First replace the two green/black O-rings under the EHA and pray that' resolves the leak, otherwise you must replace the unit (DO NOT BUY EBAY EHA's). You must buy new and they are ~$240. From there it may require adjustment to flow match with the distributor.

I think that I omitted that part where I changed the unit and it was still leaking in the same place. Thanks for the tip. I didn't replace the washers. I'll try that out and report back.

That'll be the cause then. They just turn hard that's all. Make sure to keep the original on, every EHA is slightly different when it comes to wear so keep everything in pairs if at all possible otherwise immediately or down the road you'll have fuel flow issues.

ok, replaced washers for the new unit. No more leaking. Now the car starts, but will only run for about 5-10 seconds. I believe that it needs the flow adjustment; I'm not quite sure how to do it.

serch on adjusting the EHA and you will find what you need for the electrial value on the EHA and how to set it. good luck it realy is not hard just takes very small movements of the screw.

Well I actually pulled a fuel distributor w/EHA still attached. Installed it and it started and idled perfectly. I put in in gear and the engine starts to bog down, stumble and finally shut down. Well I get back under the hood and adjust the fuel/air mixture an 1/8 of turn here and a 1/16 of a turn there and now she's running perfectly, very strong.
