Water Pump..when to change it out before it blows?
Benzmac
I've read alot of posts about water pumps and them going bad. What do you recommend to watch/listen for to indicate a pump is reaching its last mile. On one of your posts I read the Weep hole seeping is a relief port for pressure as temperature changes in the coolant. Mine seeps just a bit each time the engine cools down. Would excessive seeping be an indicator? Thanks, Brian PS. Is your shop open yet ? |

That seeping is a good indication that the seal is worn out. It is a good indication to use when making the determination to change it out - it is time.
