Odometer stopped working; what should I look at

92 SL. Speedo works, cruise works, just randomly stopped this morning. Was replaced under warranty when the car had 3k on it.

Plastic gears in the odo strip and or sometimes get loose on the shaft. Replacement gears are avail for ~$65. Do a search on this site for co. that sells them.

Thanks, I searched "plastic odometer gears" and got the site Odometer Gears - WELCOME. Now, can you point me in the direction of where to find the "pod?" Where exactly does it attach onto the drivetrain? Also, I have the old-style analog odometer, however it appears that it may be driven by "electonic pulses" from the differential? I'm trying to understand how this works. If it's electrical in any way, I was messing with the fuses in the trunk the day before, trying to recalibrate the top. Also, my SRS light has been coming on, so I suspect I have a charging issue. Does this add a possible culprit, and if so, what?
