Did all 4 shocks on my W210 a couple years ago (replaced with OEM Sachs), no spring compressor needed. They just simply unbolt.

gmercoleza, was yours a 4matic wagon?

The 4matic wagon has ride height, accumulators, all that stuff. Paul, I'd have the system checked out before I replaced the shocks. I think there is a fluid change interval for it as well and that may be an appropriate first step.

Good luck.

Thanks

Gentlemen,
Thanks.
I feelthe bumps more harshlyin the front/ The self-levelling rears are reasonably good.
I had alook past the front wheel, and was not sure about the spring placement.
GMERC, is your car a 4Matic?
