Just wondering if there is a European version of Car Fax? Looking for some history on my Euro 1980 280se. Wondering what the approximate mileage was before the speedometer was changed and stuff like that. Not interested enough to pay a lot of money on it as I already own the car, just kind of curious to see what I could find out. Perhaps even find the original owners and send them some photos.

In the UK, yes there is a verson of Carfax (at least what I guess Carfax is).

I doubt if your car is UK registered- you guys have the steering wheel on the wrong side y'know - but it could be worth a try.

There are two major players; HPI, and the AA (Automobile Association).
The AA web site is www.theAA.com.
HPI is associated with Equifax, search for HPI on Google.

Only thing is, the online checks use the UK registration number, which you won't have. But I think th AA will be able to check on the VIN.
Long shot but worth a go.
