97 SL320 climate control vacuum distributor question

I have attached a pic of the vacuum distributor for the above listed car. I got the a/c refrigerant side sorted today and am now trying to get the vents working the way they are supposed to. During automatic operation the center dash vents open only at idle. In the attached pic the green line will not hold vacuum. I get vacuum on the two white lines and the red line holds vacuum. I'll start tracing them tomorrow. Do I have the red line connected to the proper position on the vacuum distributor? Does anyone have a schematic showing the vacuum lines and dampers actuator that they could email me.

The small white line is engine vacuum, the larger is the locking pump "vacuum assist". The green feeds the climate control vacuum switchover block. You'll need to expose the climate switchover valve block, which IIRC is a real PITA to access, to test individual climate circuits to find which one is leaking the vacuum needed to hold the center vent open. Sorry but I dont have a diagram handy.

Thanks, that is kinda what I needed to know. I guess the vacuum switchover block is behind the area of where the glove box is?

Sorta below it, actually. If I'm right the lower kick panel wont come out without a fight. The last one I did I had to leave the inner screw and pivot the knee bolster to gain access.

To hijack the thread, just how does the right knee bolster attach to the dash? I know the left one has 3 screws semi hidden in the fuzz near the top and a couple on the lower hush panel but I can't find them on the right.

If I take the right hand hush panel screws out, the bolster just flexes the lower dash.

Thanks

And the black plastic piece with the little light built into it just pulls out.

Found the actuator that is buried closest to the cockpit as you look through the cabin filter area leaking. Plugged it off and the center vents work fine now.

Thanks for the help ya'll.

There are 3 screws that come in from above. A LOT of disassembly is required to access them. Best considered part of the dash.

Thanks, My end goal is to access the DAS box ( key chip reader ) that is supposedly located behind the pass air bag.

I don't know if anyone had been in it before but all I found was a couple fasteners about where the black plastic piece joined the leather covered piece above the passenger side knees. Once those two fasteners were removed the black plastic piece pulled out and I could see the vacuum controller.
