Stops Running While driving 300E

This only happens once and a while. The engine will just quit. The tach goes to zero and all the dash lights come on. After a few minutes or so it will start and run fine again. It could run a week or a day then do it again.
I have the two fuse OVP and cleaned all the connections on the pump relay and OVP. I've head MB's are known for this problem. Anyone know where to look for this problem??

Hi!

The fuel pump relay is a common cause of this problem. Even though you have cleaned the terminals, the relay itself may have failed. My car did this exact same thing a few years ago, and this was the fix.

That's what I have been thinking. Is it solder joints like most of the MB electronic in these cars? I was going to try resoldering all the joints and see what happens.

The fuel pump relay - had identical symptom and the FPR cured it.

I always keep a spare fpr and ovp in the trunk...but when it happened to me it turned out to be the crank position sensor.
