W202 wiring harness question

Have a 95 C280 with, surprise surprise, a deteriorating wiring harness. Looking at some replacements and I have seen a separate transmission wiring harness as well as the engine harness. Do I need both of these? Or is the transmission harness part of the larger engine wiring harness?

OK, I believe the "transmission wiring harness" I see on ebay is for the C220 only.

Thanks mbdoc. I see now that those are separate items. I've found a few used updated engine harnesses but coming up empty on the others.

Looks like the transmission harness is going to be a tough find. Pelican Parts shows it available through special order and I will go that route if necessary. Would like to find a good used one (PM'ed you Devil Dog) if possible.

The MB P/N for the C280 transmission harness is 202 540 33 09. This item on eBay Mercedes W202 C220 GENUINE Wiring Harness for Transmission Brand New + Warranty | eBay is for a C220 and has a P/N of 202 540 34 09. mbdoc, or anyone who would know, any chance this will interchange with the C280 harness?

According to EPC, the 34 09 harness is for a C230 and the 33 09 harness is correct for your C280. Are you sure you need a trans harness? Our '95 needed an engine harness when we bought it but the transmission harness was fine.

Oh yeah, definitely need a transmission harness. The insulation is cracked, broken and missing in various places the length of the harness.
I'm leaning toward rebuilding the trans harness. Shouldn't be to difficult with just 5 wires connector to connector.
