Noisy Aux fan on 96 E320

Noisy Aux fan on 96 E320

When the Aux fan is running, i can hear noises coming from it..sounds like a ball bearing is loose somewhere in the fan. with the engine off, i swiftly turn the fan by hand and i can hear the same noise but not as loud. does this mean my Aux fan needs to be replaced?
Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
