Intermittent clunking or rubbing noise at the rear
Guys, I need help. My ML320 1998 with about 160,000 kilimeters on it developed a problem stopping on the way. Engine completely dying off and after fifteen minutes, it will start again. After spending six weeks in a mechnic shop it was discovered that the crank shaft positioning sensor was the problem. Meanwhile, my fuel filter system was changed. When I got the truck back, there is an intermittent clunking noise coming from the rear. I have already spent over $1600.00 on CPS and not willing to be reaped off again. Will it be the axle? or bearings in the rear wheels? Has anyone out there experienced a similar problem? The noise comes sometimes on a low speed and some time on a high speed. When you break, it goes away. The breaks are all ok. Will it be the emergency brake cable or something else. Please help!!!
