W124 Separating Seat Back From Seat Bottom

Hello,

The car in question is a 1989 300E with power Tex seats. Has anyone ever separated a seat back from a seat bottom? Is it a difficult job? I'd also like to remove it from the track. I need to advise a friend on how to prepare the seat for shipping.
