Oh, another note. I had some funky headlight issues too at one time. Then my radio would reboot (aftermarket). Thats how I knew my regulator, or something, was going.

Just checked my replacement parts list and the voltage regulator only has 16,000 miles on it. I guess I could just install another on.

I would not replace it without inspection. Locate a voltage meter.

Got a new meter and when the lights are Dim. i get 14.30 volts and when the lights turn bright i get 15.20 volts.

What does this mean?

15 is on the high side.

Clearly something is not right. I would really consider examining the regulator and the possibility that the alternator may be failing. They can fail in a way that crates voltage spikes. Maybe a regulator can do the same. You may want to go over the basic too, like connection, ground straps, etc.

When I had issues, I ended up replacing both. But I upgraded to a 130 amp versus the weak 60 amp stock unit. BIG difference!

Regular looked a little iffy,so I ordered a new one. I will let you know if it solves the problem. Thanks

Replaced regulator and so far ok. These headlights have 5 small LED lights with a black and a red wire not included in the main plug. When these wires are connected to 12 volts they light up.
My question is where should I connect them to become day time running lights.

I connected mine to the side markers. There is a kit you can get online that include wires, a new plug and whatever else you may need to properly convert them.

Just dont get this one:
USA Euro Mercedes Headlamps Wiring Adapters W123 W124 W126 W201 W202 Free SHIP | eBay

The right kit will have larger plugs to fit properly. Its easy to install. Research helps before buying headlights like you have.

I don't think there is an adaptor or plug that will fit these headlights. There must be a way to connect the two wires so these 5 lights will go on when the car is turned on.
