97 E420 Hard Shifts

I changed out the electrical connector with the 2 "O" rings on my transmission because of a leak and the leak has stopped. The trans shifts smoothly under light acceleration but upshifts hard under heavier acceleration. I put a OBDII code reader on the car and no codes came up. I have read that replacing the valve spring in the trans corrects slippage between gears but I'm wondering if it also fixes the hard upshifts? Since there were no codes; I figured it probably isnt the electrical control plate under the valve body. Any suggestions?
Thanks
John

The 722.6 trans computer will adapt to your style of driving.

With a MB scanner you can erase the adaption & then readapt the trans.

Thanks mbdoc.....can I just do the adaptive reset procedure with the key/gas pedal routine or do I actually have to have MB reset it?

AFTER erasing the adaptation with scanner....

You must drive car, always keeping the engine RPM below 1800 & allow the trans to shift from 1st to 2nd to 3rd to 4th & to 5th, and then coast back to stop.

Do that same procedure 4 times & then let idle for 10 minutes in P or N.

NEVER allow the engine RPM to exceed 1800, if it does you must shut off the engine & restart the process.
