Monroe shocks for E430 Sport

Anyone try Monroe shocks on W210? I have the Sport model (2001 E430) and Monroe offers a shock for this suspension and it's the least expensive I've found @ $48 @ R***A*** each F&R. Any feedback is appreciated.

Around these parts people prefer/recommend Bilstein.

On my list of shocks, Monroe hits the bottom of the list.

Bilstein might be more expensive than the rest but they are very good quality.

I checked around and it looked like 73/each for all 4

Plus two on anything but Monroe.

Bilstein or Sachs/Boge. Or you'll not be happy with the ride and will be changing them again soon.

Good luck.

dennish, recommend buying replacement shocks/struts from a MB dealer. Those will be built to MB specs and produce the ride/handling intended for your vehicle. Call around to various MB dealers for the best price.

I've been researching and some say the Sport model has the same suspension as the basic. Anyone know for sure. It would make my decision much easier. Bilsteins basic E430 shock= about $85 while they(Bilstein) lists a shock for "sport suspension" and those are>$150 each. This is confusing because the online dealer where I get most of my parts sells Sachs(OEM) and Bilstein but specifically states "not for Sport suspension" on the E430. Our sponsor here doesn't state anything about sport model/suspension.

Stay away from anything NOT ...

Bilsteins

If you must "Do" domestic, it would ONLY be Koni s

NOTHING marketed by Monroe will please you.

There are no suspension differences between a W210 sport and regular. The Sport Package is strictly cosmetic.

Bilstein Sport shocks are for cars with lowered suspension.
