BASTARD OF A THING...NOT FUN AT ALL.

oh and I felt the middle finger was appropriate for whoever decided to put a steel sleeve around the nylon sensor...which goes into the ALUMINUM bell housing!!!!

after going thru this and having stone and metal flying around, the amount of abuse your arms take AND the amount of time it took me.....

lets put it this way.

the indie local Burt @ Cape Foreign Automotive who's way savvy on the benz's the guy who just had that happen to him last month, took him two and half hours to get it out, who loaned me some tools and told me about getting down under it and "popping" it up

Tell you what, should it happen again at the point where the sensor wouldnt come out...I would bring it to him right from that point and if he could do it in less than 4 hours it beats pulling the trans out... this job is a bugger...caution atchung danger

Thanks for posting your nightmare experience. Hopefully my crank position sensor will last until the reverse in my transmission totally fails. Then, I'll have them change the CPS when they do the B3 clutches. I think it takes about four hours to pull the transmission out anyway, doesn't it?

yes from what I'm told RnR is about 8 hours
