Mann oil filter for 1995 w124?

I am looking at a new mechanic for my oil changes. He typically uses Mann filters. I am not sure what my current MB mechanic uses. Any thoughts on the Mann filters?

Also, I use Mobile 1 synthetic but not sure what the grade is. Do you think 5w30 is safe for here in New Hampshire? Apparently that is what he uses in his M5 roadster.

Thanks

MANN are one of the best filter brand in the world, Mercedes uses them original.

Diesel or gas car will determine oil spec. Mobil 1 Truck and Turbo diesel if diesel engine, 0w-40 if gasoline engine.

+1 on the MANN filters; been using them for 12 years on my MB's and never had a problem

I run Mann filters for air, fuel, oil, and power steering in my 9 Benzes, Audi, BMW, and my Jetta. Good stuff highly recommended.

As for the oil, what car is it?

The above is true, however Benz filters are made with uncleaned cotton. It has the husk in them.

It is a 3.2L gas engine. There are quite a few recommended spec's for the climate I live in:

Below -13 to above +86 0w30 or 0w40
Above -13 to above +86 5w30 or 5w50
Above -4 to above +86 10w30, 10w40, 10w50, 10w60

Where I live it occasionally gets to -13, (like once a year). I'm thinking 5w30 is probably good. Someone recommended 0w40 but I am not sure what the side effect of running it would be if the outside temp hardly ever gets that low.
