vacuum tube under w220 2000 S500 driver seat
 

Hi everyone,
just a quick question. I was looking under the driver seat of my 2000 s500 and there seems to be a vacuum pipe that is broken at where the pipe is connected to extend it under the car seat. Not sure what the vacuum pipe is for.

Also, since the pipe is broken, is there a way to seal it without having to change to whole pipe from the source to this connection ?

Most likely a pressure line for the seat lumbar system. Does that system still function?

you're right. it's for the lumbar function. I checked with the parts dept today.
question now is the pipe is cracked. not at the junction. just a cracked pipe. Is there a way to mend it rather than having to change the pipe from one junction to the other ?

Splice it together with a short section of rubber vacuum hose.

Any auto parts store has vacuum hose. It is a common item. Measure the OD of the vacuum pipe and buy the appropriate size. It should fit nice and snug (lube the pipe a little with a soap & water solution to make it slide on easier.
