vacuum problems
 

I have a 1983 Mercedes 240D with about 96K. It apparently has a vacuum problems. It has trouble starting the first time but fires right up afterward. It will not shut off unless I lock the door on the drivers side, then the vacuum system makes it shut down. Recently, the brake system started misbehaving for what I think may be more vacuum trouble.

I have spent a little time going through and checking that all of the vacuum lines are connected. This is getting frustrating. Any help would be greatly appreciated. A vacuum diagram for this specific make and model seems to be quite hard to acquire, any suggestions?

Also, the A/C doesn't work anymore. The fan will not operate. It just quit coming on one day. Living in AZ is a problem with no A/C in the summer.

Anyone that has any suggestions please answer this plea for help.
