99 E320 base sedan steering rack

I need a new rack and have been looking at on-line suppliers.
Large price range, $200+ to $1200+ depending on source & types.

My first question is how do I determine the rack type I have?
Parameter?, with Servotronic?, w/o Servotronic?, don't see an indicator in the VIN so I assume I need to look at the tag on the rack?

I want to know what to look for & ID now since the car is only available to me on weekends.

Any suppliers/manufacturers I should steer clear of?
Is reman the way to go? I see Dearborn Axle has them in the $200 range.
Or am I just as well off with a used one from a pick-n-pull for $150?
Or should I be looking at the higher cost options?

My plan is to run the car 'til it dies and I do not see that as happening any time soon.

Thnx in advance...

rjk, check if your local MB dealer sells reconditioned racks. I would use any reconditioned MB part over any aftermarket vendor's part. For example, I buy reconditioned water pumps from our local MB dealer.

rjk: Can you describe the symptoms and why you need a steering rack. I am at just about 200k miles and wondering if mine needs replacing too.

Thanks.

There is a severe wobble between 50 & 60 mph traced to a worn tie rod end.
Additionally, the seals are leaking.
