'99 turbo diesel alarm and interior lights problems
 

Hello. The '99 E300 TD alarm won't activate any more and my cab interior lights come on when I close the door instead of openning it. This model year has lots of electrical ghosts but can these two weird things be related? Is there some sort of relay that went bad?

try taping a penny or dime onto the door, directly opposite the door pin plunger
in the door jamb. see if the lights/alarm functions return to normal (though they
may not be connected).
