Idler Arm Bushing Replacement
Okay, I fixed my oil leak and valve stem seals on my 260e, now I'm looking for something else to work on.
Sometimes when I hit a bump on the road I can feel a slight bump in the steering wheel. There is no noise and otherwise no shake in the wheel. I jacked up the car and checked the ball joints and tie rod ends and everything is tight except I get some visible movement from the idler arm. I noticed that fastlane sells bushing kits for the idler arm. Is this a common replacement item in the W124's? |
YES!
Easy to change once you get the exhaust pipe out of the way...;)

If you run-out of things to fix on your 260E, you may want to satisfy your urge on my 260E.
Things to do: replace 4 shock absorbers, rear and front suspension bushings, rotate tires, replace front headlights, repair right door lock, replace burn bulb in dash, replace 4 speakers. Once you,re done, I,d really appreciate a nice detailing job Good Luck JackD |
