Starting problems on my 420 SE ('89)
Goodmorning to you all!
I'm having trouble starting my car: it runns for 2 seconds and then stops: bought new relay: still won't start; without the relay and with a jumper on 87 and ?? it works just fine! the ignition unit and the board computer have been fully checked, so.....?? can anyone please help me out on this? Thanks in advance, Rémy K. 420 SE ('89) |
could you give more detail, are you talking about the fuel pump relay?

starting problem
yes, that's correct! The new one I've bought has 1 pin more than the old one, but I suppose this doesn't make any difference.....

so I'm guessing you directed the fuel pump and it ran fine, right? If that is the case, you probably having a wiring problem, something like a positive is grounding and kicking the relay off, so either you can search the wire problem, or direct it. When did it start having problems? Was it gradual or sudden? Check the fuel pump fuse, if it has one, see if it has power coming to both side
