Coil spring replacement / removal W123 ???

I will be removing my coil springs from my 1985 300d sedan this weekend, to cut 1.25 coil off.

I have the proper Klann compressor.

Do I remove wheel, compress spring and remove? Same for front and rear?

Any other steps?

ALSO!

When I cut the coil, do I cut from the bottom, or top of the spring?

remove wheel, compress spring and remove, cut spring from the bottom vertically so that it our able to fit back into the groove of the control arm. Why are you cutting the springs? To lower the ride? you would be better off buying lowering springs and proper struts.

Always cut the bottom coil.
