Help Cracked Head
 

My friend's 190E was just diagnosed with a 4” crack on the head.

It is possible to find a used one at a decent price? What kind of cost is he looking at?

Often the crack can be welded and the head salvaged.

Mail order Used Heads
 

I would be VERY nervous about buying any used parts by mail order. The old saying 'A bird in the hand is better than two in the bush' applies here.

I definitely would want a professional opinion, even footing the bill, for a professional magnaflux, dye check or whatever would apply to the specific part. Heads can be verrry tricky.
