'99 e320 frt suspension wobble
1) Front suspension developed a severe shake between 50 & 60 mph (daughter says this developed over time but never reported it to me)
2) Found the driver's side lower ball joint & tie rod to be worn 3) Replaced both on both sides 4) Shake is reduced but still there (tires are worn & a balance weight may be missing) 5) All other ball joints are tight 6) Noticed about 1/4" of lateral movement on the front bushing of both front lower control arms (seem to be about the same lft & rt) 7) Rear bushing has no movement QUESTION: Is a bit of movement in the front bushing of the lower control arm normal or are control arm bushings my next replacement? As far as I know, no suspension parts have ever been replaced on this vehicle (I got it in 2006). |
Make sure the wheel bearing clearance is properly set.

I have read that shocks are old,and time to replace.

Try rotating the tires and see if anything changes.
