Noise in MB300E
 

Hi there,

I have Mercedes Benz 300E, 86, 200 k miles on it. Today i noticed a buzzing noise coming from the back of the car, around where right rear wheel is, it sounds like a buzz, it is strange that i havent noticed it until now. What can it be?. I am afraid something will be going bad. Thanx for your answers.|

that would be the fuel pump, and buzzing is normal.

Unless it isn't flowing fuel properly, it should be fine from my understanding.

the pump is going out. Start pricing new/remanufactured fuel pumps. Mine was doing the same. I installed a new remanufacture bosch pump. All is quiet now. Good luck!:p

Do not wait too long. If it is the same as mine, there are two pumps.....figure out which is making the buzz and replace it. Get new copper washers as it is impossible to make them seal once the washers are used....unles you get lucky. Make a search there are many references...Later
