Deceased tool brand - cannot remember, need help!

Somewhere on this forum there was a discussion about quality tools. The usual brands were discussed, Snap On, Mac, Matco, Craftsman, etc. However, there was one brand of sockets that someone said was very high quality but are no longer in business. Does anyone remember the brand name?

I don't know about SK.

From wikipedia -

"...In 1962, SK, along with manufacturing partner Lectrolite Corp., of Defiance, OH was bought out by Symington-Wayne. That company was later bought out by Snap-On Tools. In 1985 SK became part of Facom Tools.[5] Following a takeover by Stanley Tools in 2005 of their former parent company, French based Facom Tools, they became independent through a management buyout.[3][6] In June, 2010, the company declared bankruptcy. * On August 23, 2010, it was announced that two days later, on August 25, 2010, Ideal Industries would acquire SK.[7][8] ..."

l see S-K for sale online (amazon, etc). I've got some that I purchased 50 years ago! :D

I lost a set of S-K sockets and wrench when I left it on the flat bumper lip of my Lincoln Town Car and drove away from my home 27 years ago.:( I scoured the 8 blocks on foot the next day including either side of the Interstate entry ramp. No luck. What I did find was a $20 bill folded three times in half tightly, that some biker or biker chick lost alngside the Interstate - which I then bought an S-K replacement kit with......for about $20.

I have Craftsman and S-K tools, mostly.

No, it wasn't S-K, if I remember correctly, it began with an "E" something like "Eaton"?? They made high quality sockets........

Thank you for posting the thread. It was Easco tools that seemed to stand out. Anyone use them? Also, I'm in the market for some high quality torque wrenches. I'm checking out Snap on and Matco, any suggestions are appreciated.......
