1987 300D W124 not unlocking from driver door
 

Im guessing the micro switch in the driver door went bad and now the automatic doorlocks only work from the passenger door and trunk. I called the dealer and a new keyed door lock for the driver side is almost $300. are there any other options?

I have an option for you. Some elbow grease and $50.

That is something to consider. Does anyone know if the driver exterior door lock from the 1990-1995 124 interchanges with the 1986-1989 cars? I know the later car has a decrative chrome strip, but is that the only difference?
