96 W210 rebuilt blower motor, blows like a fiend, no air from vents
Okay, so I noticed one of the brushes was totally wasted, took apart the motor (even though it's pressed together, I used a screwdriver to pry it open, replaced brushes then used a chisel to bend tabs back over), and now it works amazingly.. BUT now there is no air coming from registers. Did I jar something loose, is it a vacuum issue or electrical? Air did come from the vents prior, just not very often since the motor didn't work that well. Found a post about the vacuum block, but how do I differentiate between that and the actuators? Last question.. how do the plugs from the VB come off?
Thanks, Matt |
Possibly running backwards?

Thought of that and pulled it back out to check.. and it really throws out the air, so don't think that's it.. great minds.. I may pull out the VCB and see if anything looks amiss.

Fixed!
Okay mbdoc... you were right! Before I got into pulling the VCB, I thought, wtheck, so I reversed polarity, and sure enough, registers work! I'm sure someone could tell me how I reversed the polarity of the motor, but the important thing is, it all works now. The upside is now all the filters are replaced.
