Headliner shot, need repair option help.
My headliner on the 240 is shot (has tear by sunroof which I just made in an attempt to pull liner back toward rear of car to ease pressure at failing seam at corner of sunroof (feel pretty dumb)). This seems to be straight forward replacement but I would like to replace with factory vinyl-fabric. Does anyone have any idea on expense involved for replacement ( I would hopefully install) and whether replacement comes comes only as new fabric that would be glued onto old backing board or whether it comes as a unit (both cover and backer board are new).
Also, any leads on where to get (oem or dealer item) and any potential pitfalls on installation would be very much appreciated. Thanks. |
Made temporary fix by gluing flap. Now I just have areas to the sides that are obviously torn. Nonetheless, I sure would appreciate any advice on the matter.
Thanks. |
check out http:\\autoupholsterykits.com I think they have what you want. Also browse through www.hemmings.com. Great restoration site with links to companies that might have headliners.

My W124's headliner fell off... so we just took it to a headliner guy...I think it was an upholstery shop.

Thanks.
