Animal Magentism and the W124

4th animal hit at night
First was a possum that got "clothes-lined" by external temp sensor wire that had sagged down from bumper in my 300TE... repaired wire. Then I hit a hog and took out bumper, headlight assembly, and grille in my 300 Cabrio. Tonight I hit a coyote at 12:30 AM, took out head light assembly (the gimbal inside always breaks); and about five minutes later managed to strike an armadillo (armored possum); who knows what I'll find on the underside. At least fuel pumps are still working. I drive 58 miles one way to work, back roads thru the woods; 5-10 mph below limit, fogs and brights on. Work second shift. Guess I'll have to find a way with lots of 4 lane roads and stay in the left lane..... headlights are not as easy to find at boneyard as they once were. Liability only insurance, after all it is a $500 Cabrio. |
Road kill. Carry a cooler filled with ice.

Lucky you haven't yet hit something big like a moose, or a squatch.

Two words: cow catcher
|
Hate to say it, but I think I'd get a regular size pick up truck with a cow catcher/big bumper to make that trip. Mercedes parts are way too expensive to keep replacing.

Wow, where do you live?
