Solved a window problem
One of the features of my '97 CL500 is the fact that when the doors are opened, the windows drop down about 3/4". When the door closes, the windows go back up BEHIND the rain molding to make a perfect seal.
I noticed recently that the drivers side was not always responding and the glass would be on the WRONG side of the seal. I got some advice from the other forum by another 140 owner. He said there was a switch in the door portion that made/broke each time. I looked and sure enough there it was. Could not find it on EPC and assumed it was part of a very expensive looking latching mechanism. On a hunch, I took my trusty can of Silicone contact spray and gave Mr. Switch a bath operating it manually with my fingers. Success! System works perfectly now. This gives me time to see if there really is a part number for the switches. :) Anziani '95 E420 130K '97 CL500 135K |
