I agree. Maybe it was already mentioned but one test I can think of is you could hook up a light in parallel to the power that runs the pumps..so when the power to the pumps go out...so does your light bulb.

oh ok, got it. for some reason I was thinking that the tests would only be doable if I had a FPR, but now I get what you're saying. I have an extra glove box light assembly, I'll wire that to the fuel pump and run tests from there. Where are the fuel pump connectors located?

That is a good question. I'm not sure where the harness connects at. I think I posted a link to the FSM PDF about the wiring. It might have some connections listed on it that you could look up in the component location index.
