Cel code help
My cel came on today. I pulled the codes and I got crank position sensor and coolant position sensor. I cleared the codes and they came back instantly. Is there a issue that connect both together? The car runs great btw. No issue with drivability.

Btw it's a 2001 e320 wagon.

check connections or possibly replace

I don't want to replace both sensors just to find out it's something else. It just seems weird that both went out at the same time. |
Hmmmmmm......only fix I could think of is possibly replacing the easiest sensor to rule out the other one......unless you check the fuses.

On the E320,
When the Crank Sensor on this car fails. It will fail when the car is up to temperature, and the engine will just stop from one moment to the next, and rarely leaves a code. Once the sensor cools it will work like normal. I would leave it alone if you toyed with the connection. Most will say buy the Cam Sensor made by BOSH which is true. Well I beg to differ on that. Mine failed two years ago, and I bought one in Autozone Auto parts here in the USA which is a non-BOSH one. Mine is working fine, but I have a New BOSH one in my Glove Compartment just in case.... I paid 45 USD... Martin |
