who is the new MBDoc,need a tech
I have a p410 code, and no full throttle.I'm trying to put the two together. From feel I have weak vacumm, maybe 10. I heard vac should be high as 18 or more.I'm trying to figure out how the air pump works.I suspect somewhere from the airpump to exhaust, there is a valve. Its probably staying open, letting unmetered air in my intake manifold, even with pump off.Now I don't have the EGR working, blocked that off 4 years ago.Is there another valve that likes to crap out?

This may apply. My experience as follows.... Found that code effects a lot of SL cars. The ECU runs a Switch Over valve with three lines plumbed into it. One from the intake downstream of the throttle, one from the 'boost' housing if Kompressor fitted, and one to the Check Valve just ahead of the EGR flow valve. Found these hoses/lines to be loose and leaking. ECU sends Pulse Width Modulated power pulses to Change Over Valve according to 'time', throttle position, and coolant temperature. One check is as follows.... Warm up engine. Hold rpm's at 2500 or so steady until you see O2 ranging from 100mV to 800mV every second or quicker. Briefly push throttle to WOT and quickly release, allowing engine to return to idle. You should see O2 drop to 100mV or less in less than 20 seconds. This triggers fuel cut. If O2 fails test, install new O2. . |
thank you,and Gilly year and model is on my signature 99 s320.I believe a shut off valve is leaking. Can it be cleaned? Is it true the air valve and egr share the same pipe?
|
I think my settings are messed up as I don't see your signature and actually I don't think I see anyones signature. Possibly in the past people had really elaborate sigs and my computer is always running slow so i disabled signatures.
Anywho, I think you mean the switchover valves for egr and air injection divert valve, and yes I think they share the same source vacuum. |
Thanks Gilly will have her running good soon
