1990 300E FUEL PUMP QUESTION
Hello again,
My 1990 300e w124 3.0 doesn't start, I checked the fuel pumps and the second one does not work. I looked for fuel pumps at pelican parts and there are many options, but a great question arises, "are the first and second pump the same?", there is no indication of the pumps been different. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

The first and second pumps are the same.
What is your mileage? I changed both pumps on my 89 recently at 340K Km. I opened them up and the commutator had a lot of wear. Definitely time for new ones (I bought the Bosch). |

It's around 150K miles (240k kms), i will change the one that doesn't work, if the car starts, then will start saving money for the other.
The w124 is a wonderful car, but it's very complicated. thanks |

Fuel pump
Won't the car run with just one pump but cough under load due to inadequate fuel delivery. I guess I always assumed that was why they put in 2 fuel pumps. I do not know this so it is a question rather than a statement.
