560SEL is scraping the ground after new accumulators

I had new rear accumulators installed on my 1991 560SEL, as well as a newly rebuilt front end.

On a recent road trip, when going over small dips or rises the bottom scrapes the pavement. What gives? Any ideas? There definitely seems to be too much "bob" as I go up and down over rolling pavement.

have you checked the fluid level and see if there are any leaks or abnormal amounts of fluid missing? Could be a number of things, air in the system, maybe the lines to the accumulators were not tightened all the way causing a small leak & air to enter? Did the shop also touch the leveling valve by chance?

Thanks for the reply 2-5-2. I don't know the answers to the above questions, but I'll check.

Having owned 2 MB wagons, I am familiar with leveling systems. The system needs to be bled/cycled through any a line is opened. If there is enough fluid in the reservoir up front, then the system should cycle out any air in the lines. As two560two said, did the shop touch the leveling valve? It is adjustable and if my memory serves me correctly, it should be done with no weight in the trunk. This way the leveling arm/valve has a point of reference. To check to see if your system is at least raising properly, shut the car off and load up the trunk with a lot of weight. Start the car and rev. the engine to about 1500 rpms and the backend should raise up to level. If it doesn't, the leveling valve needs to be adjusted.
