94' S 500 rocking in Park
Hi All,
I have a S 500 with around 16K miles on it. When you place the car in park, it will rock foward or back (depending on the grade) up to around 2-3 inches. It has always done this since I bought it with 8K around 6 months ago. Is there something wrong or is this normal? I can't believe a car with 16K on it could have defective motor mounts, could this be what is bad? What other checks could I make? Thanks, Mark |

Do you mean that when you let your foot off the brake while the car is in park that it will either move forward or backward (depending on the gradient) a few inches? If so this is perfectly normal, Mercedes's seem to have big pawls on park and it takes a bit before they catch. You should apply the handbrake before letting the foot brake off anyway.
